The Boston Flower and Garden Show 2017
Welcome back Travel Bugsss! Each spring, Boston holds an amazing Flower and Garden show. This year, thanks to our friend Dana Sky and her boyfriend Tyler we had the pleasure of experiencing it firsthand. Tyler was kind enough to invite us to visit his booth, Tyler's Sweet Revenge. More on that later! The show consisted of a large variety of booths, gardens and competitions! There is an admission fee of 20$, but if you are a lover of beautiful gardens and nature or simply enjoy admiring beautiful displays of flowers, it is well worth it. They offer a free shuttle service from the World Trade Center, and they validate parking. Call/ask ahead and ask them for which garages as it may change from year to year. Unfortunately, they are gone and will not be back until next year, but mark your calendars and be sure to catch the next one!
Back to those booths, well…. There were TONS! So many options for all different types of people. Some were stocked with 100% homemade goods. Such as homemade soaps, food, garden décor, clothing and even jewelry. Of course, we inevitably visited our favorite booth of the day! Tyler's Sweet Revenge carries a WILD assortment of jams! The jams range from the incredibly sweet Cinnamon Pear Jam to the palate singeing spice of Fire In The Hole, their habanero pepper jelly that Tyler says is great flavoring for a smokey ham or wings! We absolutely LOVE using it to flavor our veggie sausage! Needless to say, we were both in heaven. It was such a delightful visit that really got our taste buds percolating. If you like Jams we definitely recommend trying one or more of theirs! You can even check out all of their flavors at www.tylerssweetrevenge.com and order online. Shipping is free with all orders over $50!
The Gardens are remarkable! The show takes place indoors which is great because spring in Boston can be pretty wet and even cold. Once inside they have beautiful garden displays with all sorts of assorted spring colored flowers, plants, ornaments and fountains. This year’s theme was “Superheroes of the Garden”.
There were also amateur competitions in floral designs, horticulture and photography that were set up to suit the theme of the show!
They had Lectures and demonstrations on things like gardening and floral design. They also held workshops on garden photography and the daily plant-it: Succulent container gardens Hands-on Workshops. These workshops cost an additional 15$ on top of your admission fee to cover supplies. You will also want to arrive a little early to the workshops as there are a limited number of tickets per class.
whether you are looking to step up your gardening game or grow a customer base. This is the place to check out! Travel Bugsss approved!
