New Metal American Express Platinum Card & Benefits 2017

Welcome back Travel Bugsss. I am back with some exciting news regarding the American Express Platinum card. As you may have guessed by now, yes, the card now comes in a shiny new metal form that many holders of the prestigious card have been clamoring for for years. Also new, Amex has added two new benefits to go along with the upped annual fee (from $450 to $550). Let's take a look at said benefits.

  • $200 Annual Uber Credit
  • 5x Points On Airfare
  • 5x Points On Hotels Booked With AmexTravel.Com

First, the uber credit is dispensed over the course of 12 months with $15 being credited each month until December where the credit is $20. So while you can not use the credit all in one month, it still subsidizes the cost of using the rideshare service over the course of the entire year.

Next, we have what I like to refer to as added benefits 2a and 2b. 2a adds 5x points on airfare purchased directly with ANY airline, the largest benefit of its kind in the points and miles game. 2b takes it a step further and rewards 5x points on all eligible Hotel bookings made through

The card keeps all of the benefits that came with it prior to the upgrade. Watch the video below to see me go over those benefits and give you a closer look at the new metal card.

  • $200 Travel Credit
  • $200 Uber Credit
  • $100 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck Credit
  • Global Lounge Access (Amex Centurion, Priority Pass, Delta Skyclub)
  • 60,000 Point Sign-up Bonus
  • 5x Points On Airfare
  • 5x Points On Hotels
  • Transfer Points To 20 Partners (Airline & Hotels)
  • Gold Hilton and SPG Status
  • Enhanced Avis, Hertz And National Car Status
  • No Foreign Transaction Fees

Thanks for reading Travel Bugsss, and as always, happy travels!
