Hello, Puerto RIco!!

Hello everyone I am the newest TravelBugsss contributor. My name is Suheili. I will usually be traveling my daughter and domestic partner and am hoping to provide insights on family travel. I sometimes go alone but I mostly travel as a family.

This year I started with a trip to PUERTO RICO!!!

We flew with Jetblue airlines direct from Boston, as I am a Mass. resident as well as my fellow travel bugsss. When we landed we got picked up at the San Juan international airport by my mom as she had arrived the night before. We stayed at the A.C hotel Condado San Juan its part of the Marriott Hotel family. The hotel is very family friendly, the hotel was brand new and it was absolutely beautiful as it had opened 5 days prior.

We went to eat at a local buffet, Puerto Rico is a bit pricey they have double taxes so prepare for that. We also went and walked the Old San Juan which is beautiful and it takes you back in time. That night we went to the Hotels rooftop and used the pool it was open till 11 pm which was wonderful. A perfect to end the night.

The next morning we woke up nice and early to take the ferry to Culebra beach, we could not get on ferry you can't buy tickets advanced or online ( i know) but its cheap $4.00 each way so if you can make it to PuertoRico show up really early and enjoy it the ferry goes in the morning to drop people off and the afternoon to bring who wants to come back.

We went to Luquillo Beach it was beautiful and so kid friendly! Once you walk the beach there is a strip of the restaurants and shops you have to check it out. The second night we got an Air BnB it was $180for the night and it also fit our group of 8 people. I feel the price was worth it for the space we got.

In the morning we woke up bright and early we had breakfast then headed to El Yunque it is the natural rainforest in Puerto Rico it is a natural reservationist and It is free. Make sure to check the Gallery to see the pictures!

To enter  El Yunque I recommend wearing rain-boots or sneakers you do not care for. Right before entering the rain-forest they have a lemonade shack check them out before you leave the forest. When walking down to the waterfall becareful its a little wet so the walk can be a little bit slippery. The walk is about 15-20 minute but it is so beautiful, after you walk down you come to see the rainforest and its so beautiful.

When you get to the waterfall it is such a peaceful and relaxing sound. If you do decide to get inside the waterfall just remember the water might be cold. It's natural temperature is around 70 degrees all year round. It might get a little colder in the winter months. Puerto rico is usually 80 degrees year round in the summer it gets hotter but winters are usually 70-80 degree's. After 3 days Puerto Rico we flew back, again with Jetblue Airlines
